Medical Provider Shadowing at Atrius Health

The Shadowing Program at Atrius Health was developed to accommodate those who have expressed an interest in a potential career in health care and allows them an opportunity to observe our medical providers in a clinical setting. Many health care degree programs are strongly encouraged by school admissions committees to have clinical shadowing experiences. Students are able to gain awareness of the academic, technical, and personal skills required as a medical professional.

The Shadowing Program is coordinated and administered by the Center for Education. Department Managers and/or Clinician Leaders should be notified prior to submitting the request for a shadowing rotation.

Prerequisites:

• Must be 18 years old
• Must provide documentation of up-to-date vaccination and other immunizations.
• All applicants should request a specific department and time frame needed.
• Must have a clinician willing to oversee the shadow experience.
• Must comply with all applicable Atrius Health policies and procedures.

Timeframe: 1 day up to 3 weeks. Must be agreed upon with supervising clinician.
