Sometimes medical health plans work with behavioral health plans which are also called Behavioral Health Carve-Outs. You can find out if your behavioral health coverage is carved out by calling your medical health insurance plan using the toll free number found on the back of your member ID card. You can also ask your employer’s Human Resources Department.

If your coverage does NOT include a separate Behavioral Health Carve-Out, you can consult the information found in the Commercial Health Insurance Plans or Medicare Plans section to learn about coverage for behavioral health care.
