In some instances, GLP-1 and GLP-1-like medications (which are marketed under brand names such as Zepbound®, Wegovy®, and Saxenda®) are used to assist with weight management. As patients who use these medications may know, insurance coverage for these products is changing significantly. Depending on your health plan, some of these insurance coverage changes took effect on July 1, 2025, and others are scheduled for January 1, 2026.

If you are taking one of these medications, you should expect direct notification via letter from your health plan regarding any coverage changes. If these coverage changes impact you, please schedule an appointment with your Atrius Health prescribing team before the end of this year to review your treatment plan and options.
