Patrick HollandNewton, MA (October 17, 2016) – Atrius Health, a nonprofit healthcare leader serving 675,000 adult and pediatric patients across eastern and central Massachusetts, is pleased to welcome Patrick M. Holland as its Chief Financial Officer. In this role, Holland will work as part of the executive team to oversee all aspects of the organization’s finances, accounting, budgeting, risk modeling, and managed care operations. He assumes the CFO role from Leland “Bud” Stacy who after more than 30 years with the organization announced earlier in the year his plan to depart Atrius Health at the end of 2016 to pursue the next phase of his career.

Holland joins Atrius Health from KPMG LLP in Boston where he has been a Principal in their Healthcare Advisory Services since 2014. In this position, he developed and managed the financial infrastructure for the new organization and played a lead role in negotiating and organizing contracts with health plans and managed care organizations to provide subsidized and commercial health insurance to eligible low-income adult residents, individuals, and small businesses of Massachusetts.

“Patrick’s groundbreaking work in setting up the Massachusetts Health Connector insurance exchange along with his impressive experience in the consulting, contracting, health plan, and provider arenas will be a tremendous addition to our team,” said Steven Strongwater, MD, President & CEO of Atrius Health. “Patrick is a respected member in the healthcare community both locally and nationally, with a strong track record as a collaborative, diligent and skilled leader. In many ways, Patrick is a futurist and we look forward to having him on our team as we continue to develop innovative approaches to care that will best serve our patients.”

Holland also brings a wealth of health plan and provider experience to Atrius Health. He was Vice President of Network Strategy for Private Healthcare Systems; Assistant Vice President of Network Contracting and Performance Management for Tufts Health Plan; and Manager of Managed Care Finance for Partners HealthCare System. From 1990-1995, Holland was a Senior Financial Analyst and Senior Accountant at Harvard Community Health Plan. He started his career as an accountant with Ernst & Young and American Finance Group.

Holland has a B.S. in Business Administration from University of Lowell and an M.B.A. with a concentration in Health Care Administration from Suffolk University. He is a resident of Winchester, MA.
