The Harvard Vanguard Kenmore practice provides primary care for adults and children, and a wide range of medical and surgical specialty care to residents of Boston, Brookline, Roxbury and other nearby cities and towns since 1979. The office is conveniently located in the Kenmore Square area, on Brookline Avenue near Fenway Park. 

Our preferred hospital partners include Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Boston Children’s Hospital, Mount Auburn Hospital and New England Baptist Hospital.

Walk-in lab is open Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 8:00pm. Saturday and Sunday, 9:00am - 5:00pm.

The optical shop is open by appointment only, Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm. Please call for an appointment.

24/7 Medical Advice

Medical advice is available to patients by telephone 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If you need medical advice after office hours, please call your doctor's office. Follow the phone prompts to be routed to our after-hours triage service staffed by nurse practitioners and physician assistants with access to your electronic medical record.

Weekend/Holiday Urgent Care

All patients have access to adult and pediatric weekend and holiday urgent care at our regionally located practices. Unless it is a life-threatening emergency (in which case you should call 911), you can use our weekend and holiday urgent care hours for most health-related situations.

Getting Here

From the West, via Route 9:
Follow Route 9 toward Brookline.  Route 9 intersects with the Jamaicaway (Route 1) in Brookline.  You will need to turn off Route 9 and onto Brookline Avenue just prior to the intersection.  Look for a fire station at the intersection of Washington Street.  Once past the fire station, get into the left lane.  At the next set of lights, take a left onto Brookline Avenue.  Follow Brookline Avenue (keep heading towards the Citgo sign) approximately 1.2 miles.  Take a left at the lights onto Fullerton Street and proceed to our enterence and parking on the right.

From the North:
Take Route 93 South to the Leverett Connector, Exit 18 (Old 26).  The ramp will merge from 2 lanes into one and then midway it reopens to two lanes.  At this point, move into the left lane and take the left exit onto Storrow Drive.  Follow the "From the East via Storrow Drive" directions below.

From the South:
Take Route 93 North to Storrow Drive (Westbound).  Follow the "From the West via Storrow Drive" directions below.

From the East via Storrow Drive:
Exit left off of Storrow Drive at Fenway/Route 1 South.  Follow the right fork.  At the lights, take a right onto Beacon Street.  Proceed to the second set of lights (Kenmore Square).  At this intersection, bear left onto Brookline Avenue.  We are on the right, two blocks past Fenway Park.  Take a right at the lights onto Fullerton Street and proceed to our entrance and parking on the right.

From the West via Storrow Drive:
Exit right off Storrow Drive at Kenmore Square.  Follow the right fork.  At the lights, take a right onto Beacon Street.  Proceed to the second set of lights (Kenmore Square).  At this intersection, bear left onto Brookline Avenue.  We are on the right, two blocks past Fenway Park.  Take a right at the lights onto Fullerton Street and proceed to our entrance and parking on the right.
