The Harvard Vanguard Chestnut Hill-West Roxbury practice has been caring for residents of Chestnut Hill, West Roxbury, Newton, Roslindale, Hyde Park, Dorchester, Jamaica Plain, and other nearby cities and towns since 1986. The office is conveniently located at the corner of Independence Drive and the VFW Parkway (Route 1) where the towns of West Roxbury and Chestnut Hill meet.

Our Chestnut Hill-West Roxbury practice provides primary care for adults and children, as well as a full range of medical and surgical specialty care. Our preferred hospital partners include Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital - Needham and Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital - Milton.  For children, we work closely with Boston Children’s Hospital. For orthopedic care, our surgeons perform procedures at New England Baptist Hospital.

24/7 Medical Advice

Medical advice is available to patients by telephone 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If you need medical advice after office hours, please call your doctor's office. Follow the phone prompts to be routed to our after-hours triage service staffed by nurse practitioners and physician assistants with access to your electronic medical record.

Weekend & Holiday Urgent Care

All patients have access to adult and pediatric weekend and holiday urgent care at our regionally located practices. Unless it is a life-threatening emergency (in which case you should call 911), you can use our weekend and holiday urgent care hours for most health-related situations.

Getting Here

We are located at the corner of Independence Drive and the VFW Parkway (Route 1), where the towns of West Roxbury and Chestnut Hill meet.  Landmarks of note are the Village of Chestnut Hill (formerly Westbook Village) and Bertucci's.

From Route 128:
Take Exit 29A (Dedham - Route 1A) and proceed North for approximately 5 miles.  From Route 1, you can see Harvard Vanguard on the left.

From the West:
Head East on Route 9.  Exit Route 9 at the Chestnut Hill Mall (3 miles East of the 128 overpass).  At the bottom of the exit ramp, turn right onto the Hammond Pond Parkway.  At the first traffic circle, take the second right onto LaGrange Street.  Then take the first left onto Beverly Road.  Follow Beverly Road to a set of lights at Independence Drive.  Turn right on Independence Drive.  The Chestnut Hill/West Roxbury offices are on the right, just before the VFW Parkway.

From Boston/Kenmore Square:
At the Kenmore Square intersection, proceed onto Brookline Avenue (Fenway Park will be on your left).  Continue for approximately 1 mile.  You will come to a set of lights at Route 1 South/The Riverway.  Turn left and continue traveling South, always following the signs to Dedham/Providence.  As you follow these signs, you will bear right and proceed up a hill, passing the Faulkner Hospital on your right.  Once past the Faulkner Hospital, take your next right onto the VFW Parkway.  At the next rotary, proceed around and follow the signs to Dedham/Norwood.  Travel approximately .6 miles to a set of lights with a shopping center on your right.  Turn right onto Independence Drive. The West Roxbury-Chestnut Hill offices are immediately on your left.
