The Harvard Vanguard Cambridge practice has been caring for residents of Cambridge, Somerville, Arlington, and other nearby cities and towns since 1979.  The office is conveniently located between Harvard and Inman Squares, opposite Cambridge Rindge and Latin School and next to the Youville and Cambridge Hospitals.

Our Cambridge practice provides primary care for adults and children, as well as a wide range of medical and surgical specialty care. Our preferred hospital partners include Mount Auburn Hospital, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Boston Children's Hospital and New England Baptist Hospital.

24/7 Medical Advice

Medical advice is available to patients by telephone 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If you need medical advice after office hours, please call your doctor's office. Follow the phone prompts to be routed to our after-hours triage service staffed by nurse practitioners and physician assistants with access to your electronic medical record.

Weekend & Holiday Urgent Care

All patients have access to adult and pediatric weekend and holiday urgent care at our regionally located practices. Unless it is a life-threatening emergency (in which case you should call 911), you can use our weekend and holiday urgent care hours for most health-related situations.

Getting Here

We are located between Harvard and Inman Squares, opposite Cambridge Rindge and Latin School and next to Youville and Cambridge Hospitals.

From Memorial Drive:
Take the Harvard Square exit and proceed up JFK Boulevard through Harvard Square.  At the far end of the square, bear right and go through the underpass.  At the traffic light, pass the firehouse on your right and stay on Cambridge Street.  We are about 1/4 mile ahead on the left.

From North Cambridge and Arlington:
Follow Massachusetts Avenue toward Harvard Square.  Bear left at the first intersection onto Cambridge Common, and then bear right through the underpass.  At the traffic light, pass the firehouse on your right and stay on Cambridge Street.  We are about 1/4 mile ahead on the left.

From Route 93 and Somerville:
Follow the McGrath and O'Brien Highway toward Boston.  Turn onto Washington Street through Union Square and proceed several blocks to Beacon Street.  Turn left onto Beacon Street and proceed several blocks to Inman Square.  In Inman Square, make a sharp right onto Cambridge Street.  We are on the right, past the Cambridge and Youville Hospitals.

MBTA INFO:
Take the MBTA Lechmere-Harvard Bus #69 that runs along Cambridge Street, and ask the driver to let you off at Robert Road.
