COVID-19 Vaccine
Atrius Health strongly recommends for patients to stay up to date with COVID-19 vaccination. COVID-19 vaccines are available for people 6 months of age and older at Atrius Health and local pharmacies. The vaccines are proven to be safe and effective at preventing severe disease. With the exception of people who have had a severe allergic reaction to one of the components of the vaccine, all patients can safely receive the vaccine (including pregnant people, people with weakened immune systems, and people who have recently been diagnosed with COVID-19). Please contact your PCP’s office regarding vaccine availability and/or contact the Pharmacy for an appointment if you are 19 years or older.
COVID-19 Therapies and Treatment
Several treatment options for COVID-19 are available for people who have COVID-19 infection and are at risk for severe disease. These treatments have been demonstrated to be very effective, are readily available, and generally easy to take. If you have underlying medical conditions that put you at higher risk, contact your healthcare provider to see if treatment with antiviral medications is right for you.
In addition, over the counter cold and flu remedies, including acetaminophen and ibuprofen, can be used to improve the symptoms.
