DR. JOE KIMURA APPOINTED MEDICAL DIRECTOR OF CLINICAL REPORTING AND ANALYTICS FOR ATRIUS HEALTH AND HARVARD VANGUARD
Newton, MA - Atrius Health and Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates are pleased to announce that Joe Kimura, MD, MPH has been appointed Atrius Health’s Medical Director of Analytics and Reporting Systems. Dr. Kimura rejoins Atrius Health and Harvard Vanguard after two years as a physician consultant in quality and operations improvement at the Southern California Permanente Medical Group in Los Angeles, California.
In his new role, Dr. Kimura will oversee the management of clinical business intelligence and reporting systems for the Atrius Health medical groups. Providing physicians with accessible, actionable, and accurate information is crucial to the achievement of Atrius Health’s goals of population health, improvement in patient care experience (effectiveness, quality, safety) and reduction in costs. He will also manage Harvard Vanguard’s health informatics group.
Prior to his role at Permanente Medical Group, Dr. Kimura served as Medical Director for Quality Measurement at Atrius Health and was an internist at Harvard Vanguard.
Dr. Kimura received his medical degree at Washington University in St Louis, Missouri. He completed his residency in internal medicine at the University of California in San Francisco and a health services research fellowship at the Department of Ambulatory Care and Prevention at Harvard Medical School. He received an MPH in Healthcare Management from the Harvard School of Public Health.
